Designed for Miranda Congregational Church, this flyer was distributed around the neighbourhood before the annual Christmas carols service. Centred around the ‘Joy’ that Christmas brings, the event aimed to communicate how Jesus can bring true Joy into your life. The design aims to draw in a crowd from around the local area of those who were looking to hear more about the Lord, aiming to appeal to people who don’t necessarily attend church every Sunday.

To Hero the theme for Joy, the service adopted the Casting Crowns version of Joyful Joyful, and a classic rendition of Joy To The World for a large band.
Building upon the system set up in 2018, the night consisted of three band sets to offer a variety of musical styles with two large band groups, one featuring a violin, and a woodwind group. An original arrangement was written for God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen (2019) and original arrangements from previous years for We Three Kings (2017) and Come Thou Long Expected Jesus (2018) were also utilised). Additionally, the children showcased their talents sharing two Christmas songs they had practiced, and a Drama was incorporated into the night to engage the kids.
The sermon, delivered by Pastor Heath Smith saw the appearance of an Angel on stage, capturing the attention of the kids, and adding a novelty to the message as he delivered his message from the perspective of one of the angels who got to sing the praises for Jesus upon his birth.
The night ended with a bang, as songs about proclaiming Jesus’s Birth (Hark The Herald Angels Sing, Mary’s Boy Child and Angels We Have Heard On High) were sung by the congregation with glitter cannons going off on stage during the final song in a final celebration of Joy on the night.
